Book Launching

Former Energy Minister and PNOC Chairman Geronimo Velasco is now an author. He launched his book entitled "Trailblaizing - A Quest for Energy Self-Reliance" at the Filipinas Heritage Library (formerly Nielsen Tower) on February 23, 2006.

The book is a documentation of his experiences in developing the energy sector in his capacity as Minister of Energy (MOE) and Chairman of the Philippine National Oil Company and the National Power Corporation from 1973 to 1986. It is also a tribute to the men and women of the MOE, PNOC and NPC for their contributions towards attainment of greater energy self-reliance.

Among the distinguished guests who graced the occasion were Mrs. Erlinda Velasco, Cesar and Joy Virata, Tony del Rosario, Ed del Fonso, Jun and Beth Reyes, Jess and Lourdes Dulce, Jose Jovellanos and Simplicio de Jesus, Chito Legarda, Pabling Malixi, Mag Manalastas, Hermie Esguerra, Cora Estrella, Tony and Cecile Carpio and Boo Chanco. Cocktails followed the brief program emceed by Freddie Puno.
